Unique Blogger Award 4.0/5.0

Hi everyone!👋

Two lovelies named Marija @ Inside my Library Mind and Sam @ River-Moose-Reads have nominated me for my 4th and 5th respective Unique Blogger Awards. Thanks so much, girls! If you have a chance, then be sure to go check out their blogs because I am in love with them!💘

So let’s start!

The Rules:

1. Share the link to the blogger who nominated you.

2. Answer the questions they gave you.

3. Nominate 8-13 other bloggers and pay it forward.

4. Ask them three questions.

Marija’s Questions:

If you could cross two of your favourite books/settings/series, which two would that be?

I am not too sure what exactly is meant by this, but I’m going to assume this means a crossover. In that case, I would love to see a crossover with the characters of Since You’ve Been Gone by Morgan Matson and the characters of Broken Hearts, Fences, and Other Things to Mend written under Matson’s pseudonym, Katie Finn. Characters from different Morgan Matson books make cameos in other books of hers, so I would love to see her two pseudonyms cross over as well!

Which book or series would you like to have a prequel of?

I’d like to see a prequel of the Harry Potter series. I really want to know more about what Harry Potter’s life was like before Hogwarts as we only got a tiny snippet in the first book.

Which two authors would you love to see collaborate on a book together?

John Green and Morgan Matson! They are two of my all-time favourite authors and although their writing styles are very different, it would be perfect for a deep, philosophical, but at the same time adorable romance read. I’m down!🙋

Sam’s Questions:

What are your three current favourite gifs?

I am not a big gif user- I sometimes use them in tag posts when appropriate, but almost never in my reviews. I’m not even sure if I’ve used all of these, but here you go!😂

R4ar3

Best series to binge read/watch?

I don’t do a lot of binging, either with reading or TV shows/movies. I did not binge read or watch either of the series I’m about to mention, but I think that they are definitely still binge-worthy for those interested.

For binge-reading, I would recommend The Princess Diaries series. I am probably the only one who still reads them (😂), but despite their age, they have the absolute perfect lengths and pacing to easily whip up a bunch of them in hours. Plus, not including a bunch of novellas, there are over 10 books in the series, all of which are perfect to keep you occupied!

As I’ve mentioned before, I don’t watch a lot of TV. I prefer reality television to fictional television, but I would totally recommend the binge-watching of Full House and Fuller House. It’s just awesome to see how the family blooms and develops throughout the eight seasons of Full House and how they all come back together (except for Michelle😔) in Fuller House.

Unpopular bookish opinions?

Oh, I have lots of those, particularly stemming from my low-key dislike of fantasy books. They usually just don’t work for me, I’m sorry to say. Here are some popular books that just did not tickle my fancy (feel free to hold a grudge against me!):

My Questions:

1. Tell me a teaser sentence from the book you’re currently reading!

2. Tell me a little known fact about you that no other bloggers know.

3. What song is stuck in your head right now? (if any)

I nominate…

1. Sydney @ Fire and Rain Books

2. Liz @ Dreaming of Pages

3. Ashley @ The Infinite Library

You guys have absolutely no obligations to participate, but I would love to read your answers to my questions!💞

So tell me, have you read any of the books mentioned? Opinions? Dis/agree with any of my answers? Let me know in the comments below.

Au revoir!💜

Sunshine Blogger Award 14.0/15.0

Hi everyone!😁

Two fabulous bloggers named Sarah @ Reviews & Read-a-Thons and Lily @ Cheeky Booky have nominated me for my 14th and 15th respective Sunshine Blogger Awards. Thank you both so much! Be sure to take a look at both of their stunning blogs!😘

So let’s get to it- just warning you all that this post will be a long one, so be prepared!

The Rules:

  • Thank the person who nominated you and link back to their blog
  • List the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger Award logo in your post or blog
  • Answer the eleven questions sent by the person who nominated you
  • Nominate eleven new blogs to receive the award and write them eleven new questions (Because I still have a huge backlog of these to do, I will only be nominating three)

Sarah’s Questions:

How long have you been blogging? What made you want to start?

For the first question, I have been blogging for about a year and a half now, and I started on April 10th, 2016. I have answered the second question in almost every award post I’ve been tagged in, so I don’t really feel like doing so again- my apologies!

Which book have you reread the most? Why?

As many of you may already know, I am not a big re-reader of books. I reread an old favourite from when I was younger (e.g. Junie B. Jones) every now and again to keep up with my reading challenge when I’m in a slump, but I usually don’t reread YA novels.

Do you read more backlist or new releases? Any particular reason why?

I read a bit more backlist books– they are easier for me to find because most of the books I read come from the library.

What’s your favorite book you’ve read so far this year?

It was AMAZING!!😍

Do you have any pets? If so, what kinds? If not, what kind of pet would you want to get if you could have any pet?

I have shared this many times before, but I have a Cockapoo dog named Max! If I could get any other pet, though, I’d either get a rabbit, chinchilla, or another dog.

IMG_1160.jpg

I love him so much!💞

What is your favourite part of summer? Why?

My favourite part of summer is being a counsellor for 5-7 year old girls at a day camp. Although it can get hard some days when the kids don’t cooperate or get along with each other, I still love it so much!💜

What’s your favourite genre to read? What do you love about it?

People have been losing so much creativity in these questions, it’s insane. I have literally answered this so many times, but to answer again, it’s YA contemporary and I love it because I really enjoy being able to relate to a story.

If you could be best friends with any author, who would it be? Why?

Probably Jenny Han because on her Instagram page, I can always catch her eating delicious treats or travelling to awesome places. I would LOVE to have a bite out of some of those foods and a trip to all of those destinations!😂

Also, her books are so fluffy and happy and I always feel amazing after I read them.😊

If you could have one more book in any series that’s finished, what series would it be? What would you want to learn or discover in the continuation?

I can’t really think of a good answer to this right now because I believe that all of the series that I’ve finished reading ended on a good note without any loose ends to be tied. But just for fun, it would be cool to have another book in The Selection series!

What do you do in your spare times (besides read)?

Another question I have responded to about 10,000 times! Anyway, here goes again:

  • Blogging (duh!)
  • Homework (I am a nerd, I know🤓)
  • Hang out with friends and family
  • Eat
  • Use social media
  • Watch YouTube videos

I’m sure there are more, but I just can’t think of them right now!

Who would you cast to play your favorite literary character? Why are they a good fit?

Okay, my apologies, but I have two reasons as to why I’m finding it hard to answer this question. 1) because I don’t really have a favourite literary character, and 2) because I don’t know many actors- I don’t watch a lot of TV or movies.

I’ll update if I find the two someones, I guess!😛

Lily’s Questions

Which Disney princess do you relate yourself with?

I think that almost any reader would say this, but Belle as she is a huge fan of books!📚

What would the world be like if you are the leader? (Be as detailed as you like)

I have an unpopular answer here, but I feel like I would not really enjoy being the leader. That’s way too much responsibility placed into my two sole hands! One thing I would do, though, is make sure that more people are reading, especially kids and teens. I’d possibly start up some reading programs so people are excited and motivated to read both in and outside of school.😊

Top 5 pairings?

In no particular order…

1. Eva and Zenn from Zenn Diagram

2. Maddie and Olly from Everything, Everything

3. Anna and Étienne from Anna and the French Kiss

4. Steffi and Rhys from A Quiet Kind of Thunder

5. Allyson and Willem from Just One Day

I am probably forgetting so many, but here are some I love and passionately ship!💘

What animal is your patronus?

I couldn’t do the official Pottermore quiz without an account, so according to Buzzfeed’s unofficial test, I am a phoenix! Here is the description:

Screen Shot 2017-09-23 at 6.01.39 PM.png

OH NO! Eric Cartman came and stole your favourite desert. What’s your favourite desert and how would you deal with it?

I don’t know who this character is, but anyway, my favourite desserts are chocolate cupcakes and I would forgive him easily if he stole them- I am that type of person.😂 I guess I’d just find something else to eat, haha!

What would you do if you won a huge jackpot from the lottery?

I would donate at least half of it to those in need, use some of it to travel, and then save up the rest of it for my future. 💸

What book do you think should be a video game?

The dystopian/science fiction book Nerve by Jeanne Ryan would make for an amazing video game. Would I play it, though? Ehhhh.

Vampires or zombies?

I am personally not a fan of either.🙅

You have the power of re-animation to bring back anyone from the dead. Who would you bring back?

I would bring back my three grandparents who have sadly passed on. I only really got to meet two of them, but I just miss them so much!💜💜

Would you be a superhero or a supervillain and what would your name be?

I’d be a superhero, but I’m not going to try to create a name because whatever it is would be cringey as heck.😂

And lastly the most important question: cats, dogs, both, or neither?

I am hands down a dog person. Cats are cute, but you can do so much more with dogs. Plus, they’re generally much friendlier!💞🐶

My Questions:

1. Where was the last place you travelled, and when was it?

2. How many physical books do you own?

3. Under what circumstances would you DNF a book?

4. What was the last movie you saw in theatres? Did you enjoy it?

5. Share your favourite meme or GIF!😂

6. Tell me a teaser sentence from the book you’re currently reading!

7. What device do you use to write your blog posts (computer, phone, etc.)?

8. Tell me a little known fact about you that no other bloggers know.

9. If you could travel anywhere in the world right this instant, where would you go, and why?

10. What song is stuck in your head right now? (if any)

11. Give a shoutout to 5 awesome bloggers, and spread the love like confetti!😊

I nominate…

1. Kellie @ Kellie’s Book Nook

2. Keri @ Are You My Book?

3. Laura @ Shut Up I’m Reading

I know that most people have accumulated many of these awards (as you can tell by the title, I have as well), but this is ultimately just for fun. It is up to you whether you decide to participate or not, but I would love to read your answers to my questions!💜

So tell me, have you read any of the books mentioned? Opinions? Which animal is your patronus? Do you dis/agree with any of my answers? Let me know in the comments below.

Au revoir!💜

Liebster Award 5.0

Screen Shot 2017-09-16 at 10.10.12 AM.png

Hi everyone!😊

The amazing Elizabeth @ Stellar Kitten Book Reviews has nominated me for my 5th Liebster Award. Thank you so much, Elizabeth, and for those who haven’t checked out her fabulous blog already, please be sure to do so!💘

So let’s get started!

The Rules:

If you have been nominated for The Liebster Award AND YOU CHOOSE TO ACCEPT IT, write a blog post about the Liebster award in which you should do the following:

•Thank the person who nominated you, and post a link to their blog. Try to include a little promotion for the person who nominated you.

•Display the award on your blog — by including it in your post and/or displaying it using a “widget” or a “gadget”. You can download images for the award here

•Write a 150-300 word post about your favorite blog that is not your own. Explain why you like the blog, provide links.

•Answer your questions and provide 10 random facts about yourself.

•Nominate 5 – 11 blogs that you feel deserve the award, who have less than 200 followers (because she broke the rules and tagged me even though I have almost 800 followers, I’m going to break this rule as well because I’M A REBEL😎) and ask them your own questions.

•List these rules in your post (You can copy and paste from here or from this site)

•Don’t forget to inform the people/blogs you nominated about it.

The Questions:

Do you enjoy rereading books?

Hmm, it depends. I don’t usually reread YA books, but lately whenever I’ve been finding myself in the midst of a reading slump, I pick up a childhood favourite and reread it.

What’s something you keep just because it means a lot to you?

All my stuffed animals from when I was little. Oh gosh, I have hundreds, but I keep them anyway because they mean too much to me to let them go, haha.

Just to give you an idea of how many I have… I have 3 bins of them in my room (one by my window, two inside my closet) and another 2 HUGE bins of them in my basement. I was obsessed with them, I’ll admit that.😂

Screen Shot 2017-09-16 at 10.22.19 AM.png

(Very old picture, hence the quality, but I’ve put basically all of them away!)

What inspired you to start your blog?

Ugh, I get asked this every single time! It’s getting really annoying, honestly. Let me copy and paste from an old post because I don’t feel like writing it again and again:

I have always had a love for reading and writing. When I joined Goodreads, I came across the art of book reviews, and it opened up a whole new reading world for me. I started to write some reviews of my own, and then I discovered book blogs! The ones I read really fascinated me, and I thought that it was really cool that they got to interact and write for so many other fellow readers, and get to read and review books before everyone else. Since I loved books and writing, I decided, why not make a blog of my own? I don’t really like writing fictitious stories, so I thought that blogging about them would be perfect for me. And I was right! I have only been blogging for about a month, but I find so much pleasure in doing it! I hope to continue for a long time!

If you could choose, what book would you have turned into a movie/TV show?

The Lunar Chronicles series!

Tell us an unpopular opinion on a book, character, couple, etc. that you have.

I am SO SO sorry to all Raven Cycle fans, but I read the first two books in the series and they bored me to death! I have concluded that fantasy is just not my thing.🤷‍♀️

What’s the farthest you have traveled?

I haven’t been able to travel much yet, but the farthest I’ve traveled was to Jamaica!🌴

Screen Shot 2016-12-19 at 8.27.25 PM

(Picture isn’t mine, but this was the resort we stayed at)

Which book release are you most excited about this year?

I am HYPED for Turtles All the Way Down. I need it in my hands this very second!😩

How would a perfect day look like to you?

In my perfect day, I’d have time to do everything I need and want to do without any lolling around. I’d finish an amazing 5-star book, write a post or two for my blog, and then later go out and spend time with friends or family. A little bit of everything I love would be great!💜

Ten random facts:

1. A guilty pleasure of mine is watching bad auditions on America’s Got Talent and X Factor! They are hilarious.😂

2. Last year I really disliked science, but this year I have been starting to like it more because my teacher is amazing! She explains things very well and she always likes to make sure everyone understands everything 100% before moving on.

3. I quit dance this year– I just wasn’t feeling it anymore and I barely have time for it.

4. My fingernails are currently painted with a shade of dark purple, but unfortunately they’re chipping.💅😒

5. A few weeks ago, my iPad’s notification bar was stuck halfway down the screen and the home button was (and still is) broken, so I couldn’t restart it or do anything with it for 2 weeks until it died. I then recharged and restarted it, but it has been super laggy. This is why I’ve been procrastinating reading two digital ARCs!

6. I recently cleaned out my room and recycled hundreds of papers. I’m glad that my room is emptier now!

7. I’m starting to tire of my blog’s current graphics, so I’ve been thinking that I’ll be changing them up every year. By 2018, I want to give this blog a revamp.

8. I have never tried sushi.

9. My braces were SUPPOSED to come off in June… but I still have a couple really stubborn gaps from when I got some molars removed, so the orthodontist is saying that they’ll come off during the winter. Hopefully those gaps close soon!😡

10. I am not a big fan of denim.

A favourite blog of mine:

I am in love with Michelle @ A Thousand Lives Lived‘s blog! Much like me, she is a Canadian high schooler, and we agree about many of the same books! She is honestly such an inspiration not just to me, but most likely for many other bloggers as well. I first found her while looking for other users’ reviews on Goodreads, and the fact that she has read so many books at just 16 years old really fascinated me. Whenever I pick up a new book, it is her opinion on it that I trust the most because her reviews are so raw, engaging, and fun. I have found dozens of new reads from her blog and Goodreads profile and I really enjoyed them! I haven’t really interacted with her directly yet, but I would love to as she seems super nice and friendly! Michelle, your blog is absolutely amazing. I can’t wait to see what you read and post next!💜

My Questions:

1. Where was the last place you travelled, and when was it?

2. How many physical books do you own?

3. Under what circumstances would you DNF a book?

4. What was the last movie you saw in theatres? Did you enjoy it?

5. Tell me a teaser sentence from the book you’re currently reading!

6. What device do you use to write your blog posts (computer, phone, etc.)?

7. Tell me a little known fact about you that no other bloggers know.

8. What song is stuck in your head right now? (if any)

I nominate…

1. Maygin @ Diversifying Perspective, One Book at a Time

2. Betty @ Betty Book Reviews

3. Delphine @ Delphine’s Babble on Some Good Reads

I understand it if you guys are not up to participating, but I would still love to hear your answers to my questions!💞

So tell me, have you read any of the books mentioned? Opinions? Do you dis/agree with any of my answers? Let me know in the comments below.

Congratulations on reading my ENTIRE post!🎉

Au revoir!💜

Sunshine Blogger Award 13.0

(All photos, other than the ones of my dog, do not belong to me and I give credit to their owners)

Hi everyone!😊

Welcome to my 13th Sunshine Blogger Award! (They’re not over yet… I still have a couple more on the way afterwards😂)

I’d like to give a sincere thank you to the awesome Sydney @ Scripturient for thinking of me! I only just discovered her blog but I absolutely love it, so be sure to check it out!💜

So let’s get on with it!

The Rules:

The Sunshine Blogger Award is given to bloggers who are creative, positive, and inspiring.  Once nominated, the blogger is required to write a post in which they:

1. Thank the blogger who nominated them and link back to their blog.

2. Answer the 11 questions asked by the blogger who nominated them.

3. Nominate 11 3 other blogs and give them 11 new questions to answer.

4. Notify your nominees and display the Sunshine Blogger Award in your post.

The Questions:

How long have you been blogging?

I have been blogging for almost a year and a half now, since April 10th, 2016. Wow, time does fly by fast!

Who is your favourite villain?

That would have to be Queen Levana from The Lunar Chronicles. At first I despised her, but when I read about her backstory in Fairest, my opinion softened a little bit and I became slightly more fond of her.

What is the first book you remember reading?

I’ve been an avid reader since I was 18 months old. I don’t know about you, but I sure don’t remember anything from when I was that age. Anyway, I’m *guessing* that the first book I have memory of is…

My parents always used to read this to me at bedtime- my dad read it so much that he even memorized it!

How do you manage blogging and other aspects of your life?

I get asked this a lot. To be completely honest, I have no idea. I think I’m just naturally good at managing my time, but there have been roadblocks every once in a while when I have had to take some little hiatuses.

Where do you see your blog in five years?

That’s a bit of a ways away, but here are some things that I’m hoping for:

  • To have over 1000 followers
  • To have FINALLY changed my cringey, fetal name😂
  • To have implemented a sleeker, more professional design
  • And I know that this doesn’t really have to do with blogging, but it has to do with reading, and that is to have logged at least 1000 books under my Goodreads “read” shelf!

What is your favourite part of blogging?

I get asked this question too much, and I have too many answers for it. So, I’d love for you to check out this post!

List your top three favourite movies.

Well, here are the *two* I could think of in no particular order…

I’m sorry I couldn’t think of a third one, I am just not the biggest fan of movies!

What are your interests outside of blogging?

Like so many of these other questions, I’ve answered this one a million times. Anyway, here goes again:

  • Reading, of course!
  • Family
  • Friends
  • Technology
  • Languages
  • Math
  • America’s Got Talent (I’ve been following this season closely! I hope Angelica Hale or Darci Lynne wins!)

And lots more!

Do you have any pets? What kind(s)?

I have a Cockapoo dog named Max, but truthfully, I tend to call him Maxie more than his actual name! He is 4 1/2 years old and I just adore him so much!💜

Paperback or hardcover?

I think I’ll have to say paperback because a) my overflowing “bookshelf” has virtually no space for hardbacks, and b) they are simply easier to read from and carry around than a hardcover book. Though hardcovers are objectively prettier, paperbacks are more my style!✌️

What is your favourite book you’ve read this year?

How to Disappear by Sharon Huss Roat was absolutely amazing. You’ll be seeing my review for it in October!😃

I nominate…

1. Katie @ Katie Judges Books

2. Claudia & Diana @ The Bookish Sisters

3. Melting Pots and Other Calamities

It is totally fine with me if you guys are not into participating, but I have willingly done it 13 times and I would love to see your answers to my questions below!💘

So tell me, do you agree with any of my answers? Disagree? What would your answers be to my or Sydney’s questions? Let me know in the comments below.

Au revoir!💜

Wonder Woman Book Tag

Hi superheroes!💜

The super awesome Bookfandom1001 has tagged me to take part in the Wonder Woman book tag, which was originally created by BookTuber Amber’s Books and More. Thanks so much for the tag, Bookfandom1001, and I highly recommend that you soar over to her blog with your mighty superpowers!💫

So let’s get on with it, shall we?

Wonder Woman: Your favourite bad*** female book character?

I don’t know if Tris objectively counts as being bad***, but she had such amazing perseverance and she was so daring and willing to take risks. To me and likely to others as well, that is what the term means!✌️

Fantasy Island: A book setting you want to escape to?

The magical world of Hogwarts… need I say more?😂

London: A hyped book that let you down?

Unfortunately, the tale that has garnered so many fans of all ages, Alice in Wonderland, did not really amuse me. I felt so bad after reading it to not have enjoyed it, but it honestly bored the heck out of me, I’m sorry guys.😩

Steve Trevor: A book that has a beautiful cover and a great story (i.e. great personality)?

For the record, I know next to nothing about Wonder Woman, so I have no idea who Steve Trevor is.🙈

Anyway, I have said this so many times, but I’ll tell you all again that Everything, Everything has both an amazingly crafted story and cover!😍😍

Lasso of Truth: A book you hated?

I couldn’t stand a thing about this book, and I rated it 1.5 stars because I’m afraid that I disliked it too much.😒

Wonder Woman’s Shield: A book so sad you need a shield?

This one made me cry buckets!😭😭

No Man’s Land: A book you want to send through No Man’s Land (i.e. shoot it to death)?

I have not read this and I would NEVER want to do so. This book is absolutely disgusting and homophobic and I don’t know how anyone would have the heart to let it be published.

Ares: A villain that is scary, but you can’t seem to hate?

Queen Levana is definitely intimidating, but after hearing her backstory in Fairest, I’m tempted not to have anything against her.

Dr, Poison: A villain that has no reason to exist?

I can’t think of any answers right now, so my apologies!

The Amazons: A book you wish had more/better LGBTQ+ representation?

Mentioning this book again- its LGBTQ+ representation was, in my opinion, terrible.

Justice League: What superhero book friends do you tag?

1.Mischenko @ ReadRantRock&Roll

2.Kristin @ Kristin Kraves Books

3.Jess @ Daring to Jess

I am really looking forward to seeing your picks for these prompts, but it is completely fine by me if you are not up to joining in or if you’ve already participated.👍

So tell me, have you read any of these books? Opinions? Do you like Wonder Woman? Do you dis/agree with any of my picks? Let me know in the comments below.

Au revoir!💜

Book Blogger Test

Hi everyone!👋

The incredible Jess @ Daring to Jess  has tagged me to take part in the Book Blogger Test. Thanks so much, Jess, and be sure to take a look at her super fun blog!💘

So let’s get on with it, shall we?

The Rules:

– Thank the person who nominated you and add a link to their blog

-Answer the ten questions asked on this post

-Nominate at least five people to do it also

-Let your nominees know you nominated them

The Questions:

What are your top 3 book pet peeves?

  • Dog-eared pages– I used to not mind them, but now they drive me crazy! How could one do that to a book?!

  • Love triangles– They are annoying as heck and I can’t stand them. They are usually instant turn-offs for me, but I have read a few books that can count as exceptions to this.

  • Characters with missing/abusive/deceased parents– This is the case in almost every YA contemporary novel I read. Just stop it already! I would guess that this is just to make readers experiencing these things feel more comfortable, but it is honestly so overdone. I want to see a happy family for a change!💜

Describe your favourite reading spot.

My favourite reading spot is in my room and on my bed, nestled up with a book. That’s pretty much it.❤️

Tell us 3 book confessions.

  • I haven’t read The Fault in our Stars yet. I know the basics of the story and how sad it is, so why even bother?

  • I know how awesome fantasy and action books are for some people, but they usually bore the heck out of me, I’m sorry. I prefer light, happy reads over dark, deep ones.

  • This isn’t about reading per se, but I dislike taking photos for Bookstagram. If you were to check mine out at this link, then you’ll see that I haven’t posted a bookish photo in forever. I just don’t have the patience or the time, guys!

When was the last time you cried during a book?

Oh gosh, I haven’t cried over a book in such a long time. It was all the way back in May 2016 for Eleanor & Park. The ending broke me!😭

How many books are on your bedside table?

I don’t keep any on it at the moment, but I do keep some books on the floor against the wall in front of my bed. Right now, there are 2 books from my TBR there.

What’s your favourite snack to eat while reading?

Something really weird about my reading habits is that if I’m reading fiction, I cannot eat and focus on the story at the same time, but if I’m reading non-fiction or articles, I enjoy eating while focusing. So if I’m reading non-fiction and non-fiction only, then I’d eat something light such as popcorn or pretzels.

Name 3 books you would recommend to anyone.

Show us a picture of your favourite book on your bookshelf.

screen-shot-2016-12-03-at-5-15-02-pm.png

Describe how much books mean to you in 3 words.

Informative, special, escapism.💞

What is your biggest reading secret?

Like Jess, I don’t really have one. Just check out my answers to the bookish confessions if you’re really wondering.😉

I tag…

1.Rose @ Tea With Rose’s Tomes

2.Keri @ Books With Keri

3.Sarah @ Rebel Princess Reader

The Awesome Blogger Award

Hey readers!👋

The amazing TJ @ Books and Other Pursuits has nominated me for the Awesome Blogger Award. Thanks so much TJ, I really appreciate it!💜 Her blog is gorgeous, so all of you must go check it out before continuing on with reading this post!

Let’s not forget to thank Maggie @ Dreaming of Guatemala for creating this award! This is her reason:

“This is an award for the absolutely wonderful writers all across the blogging world. They have beautiful blogs, are kind and lovely, and always find a way to add happiness and laughter to the lives of their readers. That is what truly defines an awesome blogger”

So let us start!

The Rules:

1.Thank the person who nominated you.
2. Include the reason behind the award.
3. Include the banner in your post.
4. Tag it under #awesomebloggeraward in the Reader.
5. Answer the questions your nominator gave you.
6. Nominate at least 5 awesome bloggers.
7. Give your nominees 10 new questions to answer.
8. Let your nominees know that they’ve been nominated.

The Questions:

Name one thing that you are most proud of?

This may sound cliché, but I am very proud of my friends and family. They have all done remarkable things for me (and in general) and I adore them all so much. So, if you are a friend or a family member of mine who is reading this right now, then hi! I love you all tons!💞

Why did you decide to start a blog?

I was thinking about creating a blog about something for a while before I created my own, but I didn’t know what to make one about. Then, I started reading a lot again and so my aunt introduced me to Goodreads. By reading others’ reviews and seeing the reviewers’ pages, I often saw that there was a blog attached to them. After visiting a few of them, I decided to start my own to share my love of reading with the world and so teen readers, whether reluctant or avid, are able to find books that fit their interests and needs. It’s been quite a success so far!👍

What’s your favourite TV show and movie?

Favourite TV show:

Favourite movie:

(Haven’t watched this one recently, though)

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?

Physical books or eBooks?

(Just a confession: I STILL have not read TFIOS!😂)

Favourite social media platform?

Right now, Snapchat!👻

If you couldn’t blog about books, what subject would you choose instead?

Oh gosh, I don’t even know. Probably just a lifestyle blog of some sort, but I am a pretty private person for the most part, so I don’t know what I’d write about.😬

Microsoft or Apple?

What’s your favourite holiday destination?

Jamaica!🌴

What’s your favourite breakfast food?

I nominate…

1.Rhea @ Bookchanted

2.Savannah @ The Book Prophet

3.Fangirling Young Adult Reader

4.Aditi @ A Thousand Words a Million Books

5.Londera @ Young Adult Book Review

Please don’t feel pressured into doing this award- although I would absolutely love to see your answers to my questions, you have no obligations and I understand if you don’t feel like participating.👍

My questions:

1.Where was the last place you travelled, and when was it?

2.How many physical books do you own?

3.Under what circumstances would you DNF a book?

4.What was the last movie you saw in theatres? Did you enjoy it?

5.Share your favourite meme or GIF!😂

6.Tell me a teaser sentence from the book you’re currently reading!

7.What device do you use to write your blog posts (computer, phone, etc.)?

8.Tell me a little known fact about you that no other bloggers know.

9.If you could travel anywhere in the world right this instant, where would you go, and why?

10.What song is stuck in your head right now? (if any)

So tell me, what would your answers be for TJ’s or my questions? Do you agree (or disagree) with anything I said? Let me know in the comments below.

Au revoir!💜

OMG This Song Book Tag🎵

Hey everyone!💘

Ann @ Ann’s Reading Corner has once again tagged me in something- and this time it’s the “OMG This Song” book tag. Thanks so much, Ann! I am personally in love with her blog, so please do take some time to check it out!

So let’s get on with it!💞

MY JAM:
A SONG YOU MUST LISTEN TO EVERY TIME IT COMES ON, NO MATTER HOW OLD OR HOW MANY TIMES YOU’VE LISTENED TO IT / A BOOK YOU’LL NEVER GET SICK OF

The Book: I don’t normally reread books, but a book that I have happily reread is Wonder by R.J. Palacio.

The Song: Honestly, I get sick of all songs eventually, so I don’t have an answer for this one. Sorry!

THROWBACK:
A SONG THAT REMINDS YOU OF THE CRINGIEST TIME OF YOUR LIFE / A BOOK THAT ALSO REMINDS YOU OF THIS TIME (OR JUST SOMETHING YOU WOULDN’T LIKE AS MUCH IF YOU PICKED IT UP FOR THE FIRST TIME NOW)

The Book: I loved The Babysitters’ Club, I really did, but the person I was when I read them in around grade 5 or 6 was super cringey. Enough said.🙈

The Song: Blurred Lines by Robin Thicke was all over the place around this time, as well. The song as well makes me cringe- I was never a fan of it.🙅

REPLAY:
A RECENT SONG YOU HAVE ON REPEAT RIGHT NOW / A RECENT FAVORITE BOOK

The Book: Recently, I read and loved Internet Famous by Danika Stone, and you can see my review of it by pressing on its cover below.

The Song: My favourite song changes all the time. In fact, I almost never have just one. Right now, though, one of my favoruites is Handclap by Fitz and the Tantrums. It’s so upbeat and fun!

GETS ME:
THIS SONG IS ME / THIS BOOK IS ME IN BOOK FORM

The Book: I feel like Viv from The Replacement Crush is basically me as a book character- she reads and blogs just like me, what else can I say?😉

The Song: I don’t really relate myself to songs- I just listen to them if I enjoy them and not really for the deeper meaning behind them, so I don’t have an answer for this one today, sorry!

WUT:
WEIRD BUT I LIKE IT? – A UNIQUE BOOK THAT STUCK OUT TO YOU FOR WHATEVER REASON

The Book: As You Wish by Chelsea Sedoti still hasn’t been released, but I received a Netgalley ARC of it and it was wondrously amazing, not to mention how unique it was. Once it comes out in January 2018, you all must devour it!

The Song: Slide by Calvin Harris is definitely a weird song, but it’s fun to listen to and I like it!

P.S. I misheard, like, half of its lyrics, so I can always get a good laugh from it!

LET’S GO:
BEST PUMP UP SONG (FOR WORKOUTS OR JUST LIFE) – A BOOK THAT INSPIRED YOU

The Book: Maya Van Wagenen’s memoir, Popular, inspired me to look at being popular in a completely different way. I would recommend it to every tween or teen trying to find themselves within the realms of their school’s popularity- you will be wowed!

The Song: I can literally listen to Handclap anytime and feel happy, so I’ll be choosing that one again because I’m a rebel!😎

CHILL:
FAVORITE CHILL, RELAXING SONG / A BOOK YOU’D CURL UP WITH AND READ ON A RAINY DAY

The Book: I probably won’t be getting to it anytime soon, but I think it would be fun to curl up with the rest of the Harry Potter series on a rainy day. Ugh, it’s so intimidating, though!😩

The Song: Bad Liar by Selena Gomez is a rather relaxing song, as are most of hers. I’m getting a bit sick of it, but I still really like it!

ADDICTING:
GUILTY PLEASURE SONG – ONE THAT’S CATCHY AND ADDICTING BUT NOT A WHOLE LOT OF SUBSTANCE / GUILTY PLEASURE/TRASHY/FAST/LIGHT READ

The Book: Hehehe… I still read Junie B. Jones books from time to time as fillers when I am about to fall behind on my reading challenge.😂

The Song: There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back by Shawn Mendes is catchy and fun, but I don’t think that there’s too much depth to it.

I tag…

1.Kristi @ Confessions of a YA Reader

2.Marija @ Inside My Library Mind

3.Des @ Des’ Random Thoughts

I would love to see your picks for these questions, but if you’re not into participating, then I 100% understand and respect that.💜

So tell me, have you read any of these books? Opinions? Do you like any of these songs if you know them? What would your answers be? Let me know in the comments below.

Au revoir!💜

Unique Blogger Award 3.0

Hey everyone!👋

The amazing Jade @ Drink Coffee and Read Books has nominated me for my third Unique Blogger Award. Thank you so much, Jade! As well, she just celebrated her achievement of 200 followers, so absolutely add onto that number!💜

Let’s get on with it, shall we?

The Rules:

-Share the link to the blogger who nominated you.

-Answer the questions they gave you.

-Nominate 8-13 other bloggers and pay it forward.

-Ask them three questions.

Les Questions:

Has any book ever influenced you greatly?

Definitely! John Green’s Looking for Alaska changed my view of life for sure. You can read all about my love for this story in my gushing review by pressing on its cover below!💞

Would you want to be an author or are you content to just be a reader?

If you mean author as in writing fictional books, then I’ll pass. I can’t for the life of me come up with any good ideas for writing stories of my own. If you mean author as in writing authentically, such as on this blog, then definitely! I hope to blog for as long as I can! Otherwise, I am content to just be a reader.😊

Where is your favourite place to read?

I think the following gif does all the talking for this question:

I nominate…

Despite what the rules say about nominating 8-13 people, since I have a lot of outstanding tags to do, I’ll only nominate 5 for today (sorry!):

1.Empire of Starlight

2.Priyasha @ Books and Co.

3.Kyera @ Kyera’s Library

4.Rimpy @ Rimpy’s Reads

5.Dawlyn & Krista @ Little Blind Book Finds

I am really looking forward to seeing your answers to the questions, but as well, I totally understand if you don’t feel up to participating!💘

My Questions:

Since I really liked Jade’s questions, I will be reusing them for you guys:

1.Has any book ever influenced you greatly?

2.Would you want to be an author or are you content to just be a reader?

3.Where is your favourite place to read?

So tell me, do you (dis)agree with any of my answers? How would you answer these questions? Let me know in the comments below.

Au revoir!💜

Disney Princess Book Tag

Hi everyone!👋

Sam @ River-Moose-Reads has tagged me to take part in the new Disney Princess Book Tag. Thanks so much, Sam!💜 I love her blog, so be sure to take some time to check it out!

I like Disney movies, but I wouldn’t say that I’m the biggest fan of them, to tell you the truth. (Please don’t kill me!) My favourite princesses are probably Cinderella and Rapunzel, though.

So let’s get on with the tag!✌️

The Rules

-Mention where you saw the tag/thank whoever tagged you

-Tag the lovely creators (Mandy & Zuky) so they can see their wonderful tag in action!

-Play a game of tag at the end!

Les Questions

Snow White: This book (like the movie) started it all- favourite debut book from an author

I was surprised to find out that Everything, Everything was Nicola Yoon’s debut- it’s just too good to be true!👌

Cinderella: A diamond in the rough-  Just like Cinderella, you either didn’t expect much out of this character in the beginning but they turned out to be a total gem

Eldon from As You Wish by Chelsea Sedoti was at first arrogant and downright rude, but as the book progressed, he developed so much into a guy with a warm heart who always wanted to do the right thing.💙

Aurora: SLEEPING BEAUTY – A book that makes you sleepy or just could not hold your attention

Panic by Lauren Oliver was so boring! I have mixed feelings about all of Lauren Oliver’s books, and this one was my least favourite from them.😐

Ariel: Under the Sea- A book with an ocean/water setting

The Siren by Kiera Cass was an awesome book that I’d recommend to those who are into stories about mermaids and who are also fans of her fabulous series, The SelectionThis one was absolutely a fun, light, and fast read.✌️

Belle: Beauty and the Books- Name a book with the best bookworm/book lover

Guys, Vivian from The Replacement Crush by Lisa Brown Roberts is a book blogger! I think enough can be said.😂

Jasmine: THE THIEF AND THE PRINCESS – Name book with an unlikely love story (either in terms of romance or a book you didn’t expect to love so much)

Divergent probably meets both!😊

Pocahontas: THE REAL LIFE PRINCESS – Name a book that is based on a real life person you want to read/have read

Does it count if she wrote the book herself?🤔

Mulan: THE PRINCESS THAT SAVED HER COUNTRY – Name the fiercest heroine you know

Katniss from THG! Need I say more?!😂💜

Tiana:  THE PRINCESS WITH THE COOLEST AND MOST DIVERSE CREW – Name a diverse book whether it is a diverse set of characters (like tiana’s group of naveen, louis, ray, and more) or just diverse in general

The Upside of Unrequited by Becky Albertalli is filled to the brim with diversity!💘

Rapunzel: LET YOUR LONGGGGGG HAIR DOWN – Name the longest book you’ve ever read

590 pages… but that will change once I continue on with the Harry Potter series. Someday…😉

Merida: I DETERMINE MY OWN FATE – A book where there is no love story/interest or isn’t needed

The love felt so forced in Protected by Claire Zorn! Review to come soon.💖

Anna & Elsa-  FROZEN HEARTS – A book in a winter/cold setting

Sucktown, Alaska by Craig Dirkes was far from being the best book ever, but it is all I could think of to answer this prompt.🤷‍♀️

Moana: How Far I’ll Go- A character that goes on a journey

Technically, Q from Paper Towns by John Green goes on two journeys– one for self-growth, and another to find Margo. It was astonishing!😍

I tag…

1.Erin @ A Redhead’s Rambling

2.A @ Fandomly Bookish

3.Laura  @ Reading Sanctuary

As always, if you guys have already completed this tag or are just not up to it, it’s no problem, but I’d still love to see your choices!💙💙

So tell me, have you read any of these books? Opinions? Have you seen any of these Disney princess movies? If so, who is your favourite princess? Do you agree (or disagree) with any of my choices? Let me know in the comments below.

Au revoir!💜
