Mid-Year Freak Out Book Tag (2017 Edition🎉)

(Credit: Shouni)

Hi everyone!👋

Shouni @ Through the Book Portal has tagged me to take part in the Mid Year Freak Out Book Tag. Thank you so much, Shouni! Be sure to check out her blog- it rocks!👌💗

I also participated in this tag last year, and you can view that post here.

So let’s start freaking out!😱

1. Best books you’ve read so far in 2017?

Here are some favourites so far!💟

2. Best sequel of 2017 so far?

Girl Online Going Solo was the PERFECT ending to the Girl Online series.👌

3. New release you haven’t read yet, but want to

I STILL haven’t gotten my hands on The Hate U Give and it’s been killing me! I want to read it so badly, so somebody please place it in my grabby hands!😩

4. Most anticipated release for the second half of 2017?

I can’t wait to see what goodness Kasie West has to offer in this new book. It looks like so much fun!🎉🎉

5. Biggest disappointment?

I was expecting Literally to literally be awesome since Dreamology was, but even though I did like it, it still wasn’t as good as I thought it would be.😟

6. Biggest surprise?

When I received the publicist’s request to read this book, it wasn’t really up my alley, but I decided to accept it anyway. It turned out to be very interesting!☺️

7. Favourite new author? (Debut or new to you)

I only started reading Kody Keplinger’s books this year, but I have really been enjoying them! Reviews:

Run

The DUFF

Lying Out Loud

8. Newest fictional crush?

Dev from Bookishly Ever After is the only one I can think of at the moment.😛💜

9. Newest favourite character?

Hmm. I can’t really think of anyone that sticks out, which is saying something…😕

10. Book that made you cry?

Nothing has actually made me cry thus far, but one book that moved me so much was A List of Cages by Robin Roe. (Y’ALL SHOULD READ IT, IT’S AMAZING!!💗)

11. Book that made you happy?

To steal Shouni’s answer (sorry!🙊), When Dimple Met Rishi also made me smile from ear to ear with its pure awesomeness!😃

12. Favourite book to movie adaptation you’ve seen this year?

I’ll have to pass on this- I haven’t watched any so far!😂

13. Favourite review you’ve written this year?

Honestly, I am proud of all of the reviews that I’ve been writing this year. They have all become much more coherent and unique than they were when I first started blogging. So, I’ll have to give this title to all of them!💘

14. Most beautiful book you’ve bought or received this year?

I just bought Love & Gelato (YES, I FINALLY DID!), and its cover is so adorable that I want to pet it all day long!😍

15. What books do you need to read by the end of the year?

I have no specifics for this question, honestly. Pretty much just anything on my TBR that I can get my hands on will be my answer, I guess.

I tag…

  1. Liv @ Curlyhairbibliophile
  2. Peregrine Grace @ Books and Beauties
  3. Aria @ Blue Lily and Blue
  4. Breeny @ Breeny’s Books
  5. Katie @ Read with Katie

I would love to see how you guys answer these questions, but if you don’t feel like participating, then you are totally welcome to skip.😊

Even if I haven’t tagged you, also feel free to participate if you’d like!😃

So tell me, how has 2017 been for you in terms of reading and blogging? What have been some of your favourite reads so far? What else are you hoping to read by the end of the year? And do you agree with any of my answers? Let me know in the comments below.

Au revoir!💜

Keep It Fresh Award

(Credit goes to Jax)

Hi everyone!☺️

The fabulous Jax @ Life of a Simple Reader has tagged me in the Keep it Fresh Award. Thank you so much for thinking of me, Jax! Her blog is the best, so be sure to check it out!💜

So let’s get started!

The Rules:

1. Post the rules before starting and link back to this post as a reference for other bloggers.

2. Part AAnswer each of the fruit questions (each fruit corresponds to a book!) & add pictures plus why you thought that particular book deserves that particular fruit if possible.

3. Part BChoose your favorite fruit (even if it is one of the fruits in part A). Come up with a question that we didn’t ask and answer it.

4. Part CCreate your own smoothie from the fruits in Part A (imagine a Lemon-Tomato-Apple smoothie ~ yuck), and find a book that would correlate to your smoothie!

5. Nominate as many and anyone that you think are deserving of this award but it would be nice if you nominated a minimum of 5!

6. Notify your nominees of the nomination.

7. The most important rules? Have fun and of course, keep it fresh!

Part A:

1. Strawberries – Name the sweetest book you’ve read. (e.g. sweet in terms of the characters or if the story takes place in a sweet world… etc.)

Eleanor & Park was pretty sweet! It gave me all the feels. Literally ALL OF THEM.💞

2. Coconut – What is a book that you would bring on vacation with you to a tropical destination? (Or if you’re just relaxing at the beach…)

Since I haven’t read Love & Gelato yet (WHY?! OMG), I would definitely go out and buy it just to take it with me on vacation. It looks adorable!☺️

3. Pineapple – What is a book that you didn’t think you would like by judging its cover/summary/the first few pages but started to grow on you?

For years, I NEVER thought I would enjoy THG. But last year, I was curious about it, so I couldn’t resist picking it up. To say the least, I was astonished.👌

4. Orange – What’s the juiciest book you’ve read? (e.g. A book with tons of action, romance… etc.)

The mystery in The Hundred Lies of Lizzie Lovett was super juicy, and I would definitely recommend it to lovers of mysterious, thrilling books.💞

5. Watermelon – A watery book (e.g. There wasn’t tons of substance to the book/the details were just too watery…etc. Don’t get us wrong though, we love watermelons!)

I liked this book, but everything was so bland!😟

6. Dragonfruit – What’s the most unique book you’ve read? (e.g. Unique in writing style, characters, plot… etc.)

5 to 1 had two separate POVs- one in paragraphs, and one in verse. The concept was super unique too- press on its cover to read my review and find out all about it!☺️

7. Lemons – Name a book that made you feel sour. (e.g. The emotions were just sour, you just felt sour reading the book, or the book includes sour characters… etc.)

Everything about The Haters, including its title, left me feeling sour and disgusted.🙅

8. Tomato – What is a wonderful book that you think should be more widely known? Or a fantastic author whom you think deserves more recognition? (Since some may not know that tomatoes are actually fruits!)

I’d say that Stones on a Grave, along with all of the other books in the Secrets series, are too underrated and deserve much more love! The series follows the perspectives of 7 different teen girls whose orphanage burns down, so they are all forced to find lives elsewhere, as well as where they’d come from and who their ancestors were. Not to mention that it’s historical fiction, so good news for the YA historical fiction lover!😌

9. Apple – Name a really stereotypical book of a certain genre just like apples which are typical fruits. In the end was that book good or not? (e.g. A very typical contemporary/fantasy book… etc.)

Paintbrush by Hannah Bucchin was the last cliché book I read. It was so predictable with a storyline that is so overused that I could barely even enjoy it. It is still a good book for readers just starting out in contemporary, though.

10. Blueberries – Name a book that made you feel blue. (Any sad, depressing books that you’ve read?)

Though this book made me feel a whirlwind of emotions, I was in shambles of tears by the end of it. No book has EVER made me cry as much as this one did!😭😭

11. Grapefruit – Any bitter books? (e.g. a book that was blue but MORE… do you have any bitter resentments towards characters from a book? Any sour turned bitter emotions? Any uber-hateful villains?)

I can’t think of a specific book for this one, but I hate any character that is stuck-up and doesn’t learn from their mistakes by the end of the book. Just my personal two-cents.🙈

12. Limes – Name a funny book that you’ve read because limes add flavour and so does humour with every book.

Although this was technically a book about death, Jesse Andrews made it sooo funny! It was too bad that I disliked his sophomore novel.😟

Part B: Create your own!

Starfruit: Name a book that is your star (or one that simply features characters going to the stars).⭐️

This isn’t such a creative one, but if you wish upon a star, the book that will come to my mind is As You Wish by Chelsea Sedoti. It was a fantastic read that I only finished a couple days ago, but one that I know I will remember for a long time. Review to come!💜💫

And I just realized that this was supposed to be my favourite fruit. I haven’t even tried starfruit. Oops!🙊

Part C: Smoothie!

Dragonfruit+tomatoes+lime (EW!!)

It’s been a long while since I finished The Truth Commission, but I remember it being unique, underrated, and funny, all at the same time!😄 (Not that being underrated is good…)

I nominate…

1. Kate @ Midnight Book Girl

2. Mikaela @ The Well-Thumbed Reader

3. Daniela @ My Name is Daniela

4. Ashley & Sabrina @ 5171 Miles Book Blog

5. Dessie @ Samodiva Reads

Feel free to skip out on this if you’re not up to participating, but I would love to see your answers! It was a lot of fun to write and I hope you guys have fun with it, too.💞

So tell me, have you read any of these books? Opinions? What would be your choices? Let me know in the comments below.

Au revoir!💜

Full House Book Tag

Hi everyone!😄

I wasn’t tagged for this, but since I have been starting to really enjoy watching the TV show Full House on Netflix, I decided to take a google search and see if there was a book tag for Full House, and low and behold, there was! It was created by Rose @ stuckinfiction, whose blog I just found and it’s amazing! Be sure to check her out!💞

So let’s get started, shall we? You got it, dude!😉

1. Danny Tanner: A book that needs to be cleaned up because there are loose ends and plot holes.

Danny is the father of the three young daughters in the show, and to simply put it, he’s a neat freak. He prefers everything to be spotless and all tidied up.

The Love Interest by Cale Dietrich was interesting at times, but it still had quite a few plot holes and loose ends to be cleaned up.

2. Joey Gladstone: A book that made you laugh.

^That basically sums up Joey and his happy-go-lucky, funny personality, by the way!😂

Even though Me and Earl and the Dying Girl is a book about death, Jesse Andrews makes it very funny and light for readers without sugarcoating the reality of the events going on. It’s definitely a must read!

3. Jesse Katsopolis: A book that has a great cover.

Jesse is Danny Tanner’s brother-in-law and the girls’ uncle, who goes on to marry a news anchor named Rebecca Donaldson, who will be shown later in this post. Together they have twin baby boys. He is super cool, likes Elvis Presley, and rides on a motorcycle.

Since Jesse is, ahem, very good-looking, the book I chose that can also be described that way is The Sun is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon. It’s also beautiful on the inside!👌👌

4. D.J. Tanner: A book or character that has taught you a lot.

D.J. Tanner is wise, helpful, and she is the eldest sister out of all the three Tanner girls. Though at times she wants nothing to do with her sisters, she always has her watchful eye out for them and is always willing to give them advice if and when they need it.

Looking for Alaska is a book that honestly changed my life and many of the things I believe. It has so many amazing pieces of advice embedded into it, and it is one of the best books I’ve ever gotten my hands on.💞

5. Stephanie Tanner: A book you can’t stop talking about.

Stephanie is the talkative, sassy middle child of the Tanner family. She looks up to DJ especially to be a role model for her future.

Ever since I read the awesome Anna and the French Kiss in February 2016, I haven’t been able to stop talking about it!😂

6. Michelle Tanner: A book or character that you quote a lot.

I do not have a pick for this question, but Michelle is personally my favourite Full House character, as she is the adorable, witty youngest child of the Tanner family. She has many different catchphrases, such as the one in the GIF.💞

7. Rebecca Donaldson: A book or character that you relate to the most.

Rebecca Donaldson is a news reporter on Wake Up, San Francisco, that is, until she marries Jesse Katsopolis and has her twin boys.

I felt like I could relate to Penny from Girl Online a ton!💞

8. Steve Hale: A book you ate up (couldn’t put down).

In later seasons, Steve Hale is DJ’s boyfriend, who is a couple years older than her. As you can probably tell, he is a big foodie!🍎

I basically ate up Dreamology by Lucy Keating. It was too good- I couldn’t put it down!

9. Alex and Nicky Katsopolis: A book that needs a sequel.

Alex and Nicky Katsopolis are Jesse and Becky’s twin sons. They are so adorable!💙

I definitely think that Carry On by Rainbow Rowell deserves a sequel- I want more!

10. Kimmy Gibbler: A book or character you’ve grown to love.

Kimmy is DJ’s rebellious, carefree best friend. I am not the biggest fan of her character, but that’s just me.

I totally grew to love The Goblin King in Wintersong by S. Jae-Jones!😄

So tell me, have you seen Full House? Do you like it? Who is your favourite character? Have you read any of these books? Opinions? Let me know in the comments brlow.

Au revoir!💜

Book Personality Challenge

Hi everyone!☺️

I have no outstanding tags to do this week, so when I saw the Book Personality Challenge on Larkin @ Wonderfilled Reads‘ blog, it looked quite fun, so I decided to take it on anyway. Be sure to check out her awesome blog!💞

For this challenge, you must find out your MBTI personality type out of the sixteen and and tell your readers how you would be like as a book character.

I took the test a while ago at this link, and I was told that I was an ISTJ (Introverted Sensing Thinking Judging). Another more literal name for the ISTJ is the Logistician, and here is a brief description of the personality type:

The ISTJ personality type is thought to be the most abundant, making up around 13% of the population. Their defining characteristics of integrity, practical logic and tireless dedication to duty make ISTJs a vital core to many families, as well as organizations that uphold traditions, rules and standards, such as law offices, regulatory bodies and military. People with the ISTJ personality type enjoy taking responsibility for their actions, and take pride in the work they do – when working towards a goal, ISTJs hold back none of their time and energy completing each relevant task with accuracy and patience.

Yep, sounds a lot like me!💁

So let’s get on with the tag!😉

What is your personality like?

I like to describe myself as a hard worker who is studious, dedicated, and responsible. I get good marks and if I am interested in a subject, I can completely immerse myself into it (ahem, books and French!😂). I tend to think more concretely than critically, which means that when making decisions, I rely more on facts than on intuition, but my way of thinking still allows me as well as all other ISTJs to be successful. I am a bit shy, but once I have bonded with someone and become able to trust them, I can open up to them and be a *tiny bit* silly. It does take a bit of time for me to develop trust in someone, but overall, I am pretty easy-going (for the most part) and I try to be a friend to all.💘

If you were a character in a book, what would be some of your strengths and flaws?

Strengths:
  • Puts effort into work and gets good outcomes out of it
  • Is honest and really dislikes dishonesty
  • Is calm, patient and can handle sticky situations
  • Can be trusted to get the job done
Weaknesses:
  • Can sometimes be stubborn
  • Not very eager to take risks
  • Can sometimes be a bit too honest
*Note that not all of these apply to me, just to the ISTJ in general*

Do any authors share your personality type?

I haven’t read books from either of these authors, but I found Sigmund Freud, Thomas Hobbes, along with some others that I’ve never heard of. If you know of any young adult authors that are ISTJs, then please let me know!

What fictional characters share your personality type?

Screen Shot 2017-05-19 at 5.18.07 PM.png

Screen Shot 2017-05-19 at 5.18.27 PM.png

I’m happy to see that Hermione shares my ISTJ traits, but I have not checked out any of these other fictional works.🙈

If you were a character in a book, what job would you have?

Some of the careers that are best and the most popular with ISTJs include lawyers, judges, police officers, military workers, and detectives.

Hmm. I’ll choose to be a lawyer.🙈

What personality type would complete your OTP?

It says on 16 Personalities that the best partner for an ISTJ would be any type of personality that includes the letters E (extroverted), S (observant), and P (prospective). This means that the ESTP (the entrepreneur) or the ESFP (the entertainer) would be my best bet.

Who are some fictional characters that would complete your OTP?

Some entrepreneurs:

Screen Shot 2017-05-19 at 5.27.07 PMScreen Shot 2017-05-19 at 5.27.00 PM.png

Some entertainers:

I choose Jack Dawson!💗

So tell me, what is your personality type? Have you done this tag (if so, please link me to it in the comments- I’d love to see your answers!)? Do you agree with any of my answers?

Let me know in the comments below.

Unique Błogger Award 2.0

Hey everyone!☺️

The awesome Laura @ thebookcorps has nominated me for my second Unique Blogger Award. Thank you so much for thinking of me, Laura! If you haven’t already, then be sure to take a peek at her fascinating blog!💜

Without further ado, let’s get onto it!😉

The Rules:

  • Share the link of the blogger who has shown love to you by nominating you.
  • Answer the questions.
  • In the spirit of sharing love and solidarity with our blogging family, nominate 8-13 people for the same award.
  • Ask them three questions.

Les Questions:

1. I know we’re all mainly YA readers on here, so what is your favourite adult fiction novel?

I don’t really read adult fiction. As you may know, I am a teenager in high school, so adult fiction usually goes right over my head. So, I unfortunately cannot answer this question right now. Sorry!😧

2. Enough with the heroes, they’re boring. Who is your favourite book villain?

My favourite book villain is probably Queen Levana from The Lunar Chronicles. Her backstory is so interesting- I absolutely loved reading from her point-of-view in Fairest.

Credit for Queen Levana fanart

3. Will you ever lend a book to a friend? Why/Why not? Any horror stories?

Would I ever lend a friend a book? Well, sometimes. If they really want to read one of my books, then I will likely happily lend it to them, but I find that the books I lend out either a) come back damaged, or b) never come back at all. It’s annoying- I just want my books to be returned the way they were given!😠

As for the horror stories, I personally dislike them, and my friends aren’t the biggest fans of them, either.🙅

I nominate…

  1. Jackie @ Too Much of a Book Nerd
  2. Tiffany @ Tiff the Book Nerd
  3. Hayley @ Rather Too Fond of Books

I would love to see your answers to my questions below, but I totally understand if you don’t feel like participating- you guys ultimately have no obligations to.☺️

Mes questions pour vous:

  1. Share your favourite meme or GIF!😂
  2. What song is stuck in your head right now? (if any)
  3. Share a teaser sentence from the book you’re currently reading!

So tell me, do you (dis)agree with any of my answers? What would be your answers to my or Laura’s questions? Let me know in the comments below.

Au revoir!💜

Desert Island Discs Blog Tag🌵

Hello everyone!👋

The amazing Not-so-modern-girl has tagged me to partake in the Desert Island Discs Blog Tag. Thank you so much for thinking of me! You guys all have to check out her blog- it’s perfection!💞

So let’s get started, shall we?

The Rules:

  • Link back to BookBum’s original post, so she can see all your answers! (Remember to do this via pingback, she won’t get a notification if not!)
  • Thank the person who tagged you… show some love!
  • Come up with your answers
  • Then tag others to keep the tag going!

The Premise:

You are cast away onto a remote desert island:

  • You can bring 5 albums- what are they?
  • You can bring one book- which is it? You are provided with a Bible/ other religious text if you want it, as well as the Complete Works of Shakespeare. No series’!
  • You can have one luxury item (it had to be inanimate and can’t help you escape the island)- what is it?

My Answers:

The Albums:

I don’t listen to many full albums, but I will include 5 albums that I am DYING to fully listen to from some of my favourite artists! These include:

  • Memories…. Do Not Open by The Chainsmokers
  • 7/27 by Fifth Harmony
  • Doo-Wops & Hooligans by Bruno Mars
  • Unorthodox Jukebox by Bruno Mars
  • 18 Months by Calvin Harris

And if I can, by any chance, smuggle another one in there:

  • Motion by Calvin Harris

The Book:

Ugh, this kind of question is always SOOOO hard to answer, but I think that, as per usual, it will probably have to be….

Looking for Alaska by John Green! I loved it too much not to take with me to the deserted island.💞

The Luxury Item:

I think I’d choose a tent as my luxury item. That way, when it’s time to go to sleep or just take a quick rest, I can curl up inside the tent and be (at least a tiny bit) protected from the scorching heat as well as any bugs outside. My book and albums will also be kept safe!☺️

Something like this one below would be the perfect size!⬇️

Credit

I tag…

  1. Puput @ Sparkling Letters
  2. Elsie @ Reading Between Worlds
  3. Inge @ The Belgian Reviewer

I hope you guys decide to participate- I had so much fun writing this post! But as always, I do understand if you guys don’t do tags or if you’ve already done this. Still, I’m looking forward to reading your answers!☺️

So tell me, do you agree with any of my answers? What would be yours? What would you bring with you if you had to get stuck on a desert island? Let me know in the comments below.

The Chocolate Book Tag🍫

Hi everyone!☺️

The awesome Daniela @ My Name is Daniela has tagged me to do the Chocolate Book Tag. Thanks so much, Daniela! Be sure to check out her blog- she just created a new one that for sure deserves a lot of love!💞

I’m so excited to participate in this tag as it combines two of my favourite things- chocolate and books! I love them both a ton!🍫📚💜

So let’s get on with it, shall we?☺️

Les Questions:

Dark Chocolate: A book with a dark theme/content.

Yep, The Scorpion Rules was definitely dark!😉

White Chocolate: A light-hearted/humorous read.

I don’t think there’s any explanation needed for this one. Just read it and you’ll see for yourself!☺️

Milk Chocolate: A book with a lot of hype that you are dying to read.

Ugh, I am DYINGGGG to get my hands on The Hate U Give! Everyone is raving about this *seemingly* beautiful book and its diverse themes, so I must join in on the hype!💜

A Wafer-Free KitKat: A book that surprised you lately.

Honestly, most books that I’ve been reading these days have been meeting my expectations, so I can’t recall any recent surprises. Sorry!😧

Snickers: A book you are going nuts about.

Most of my reads lately have honestly been disappointing me, but the highest rating I’ve given out recently was for the amazing The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian. I’d totally recommend this 4.5 star read!☺️

Hot Chocolate with Whipped Cream and Marshmallows: A comfort read that you turn to again and again.

I don’t usually reread YA books, but Wonder is one I’ve read twice and adored both times.💜

Box of Chocolates: A series that has something for everyone.

I totally agree with you, Daniela- Harry Potter has AT LEAST one element in it for everyone. It’s so versatile and loveable!💞

I tag…

  1. Katie @ bookishlythinking
  2. Aurora @ Little Great Reads
  3. Melanie @ One Less Lonely Blog

As always, it’s your call whether or not you feel like doing this tag! Of course, I’d love to read all of your answers, but I understand if you don’t decide to participate.☺️

So tell me, have you read any of these books? Opinions? How would you answer these questions? Do you LOVE chocolate like I do? If so, what’s your favourite kind? Let me know in the comments below.

Au revoir!💜

Rapid Fire Book Tag🔥

Hi everyone!☺️

I am back with another tag today, all thanks to the awesome Ann @ Ann’s Reading Corner who tagged me in the Rapid Fire Book Tag. Thank you so much, Ann!💜 I absolutely love her blog, so please be sure to press the link connected to her name to view the amazingness that it is!

This is the Rapid Fire book tag, so my answers are going to be, well, rapid fire. I have already answered most of these questions somewhere on my blog anyway, so most will not require long explanations.☺️

So let’s get to it!

EBooks or physical books?

Physical books! I love the feeling of having a paper book in my hands.💘

Paperbacks or hardbacks?

It all depends. I like the look of hardbacks more, but to read, probably paperbacks because of their lighter weight.

url.jpg

Online or in-store book shopping?

In-store! I just love seeing the physical books and being able to take them home right away.💜

Trilogies or series?

Again, this all depends. If I like a book and want more of the story, I’d say series, but trilogies are often enough to wrap up every last thought and event.

Heroes or villains?

Heroes’ and villains’ backstories are both interesting, but I will have to go with heroes because, well, they’re heroes

A book you want everyone to read?

Besides LFA, SYBG, & SCS, at least one of which I’ve been talking about in almost every tag or Top Ten Thursday post, I’d say that everyone should read Symptoms of Being Human by Jeff Garvin for its morals and diversity.💘

Recommend an underrated book!

Well, the book above🔼 is pretty underrated, but another one that deserves much more love is The Future of Us by Jay Asher and Carolyn Mackler. YOU SHOULD ALL READ IT! *throws book into your face*😂

The last book I finished:

At the time of writing this, it was This is What Happy Looks Like by Jennifer E. Smith. Like all of her books, it was cute, but not my favourite. I gave it 3.5 stars and you’ll be seeing my review for it soon!☺️

Weirdest thing you have used as a bookmark?

Probably receipts left in library books.😂

Used books: yes or no?

Not really to buy, but to borrow, sure!

Top three favourite genres?

  1. Young Adult Contemporary (as you all know by now😂 )
  2. Young Adult Dystopian/Sci-Fi
  3. Young Adult Historical Fiction

Borrow or buy?

As much as I love owning books, I love using the library so I can amass many reads at once and so I can return a book if I dislike it.👌

Characters or plot?

Probably characters. If I can connect to a character, then I am more likely to enjoy the book.

Long or short books?

I definitely prefer short but sweet books!💜

Long or short chapters?

Short ones, they speed up my reading.

Name the first three books you think of:

  1. Run by Kody Keplinger
  2.  The Art of Being Normal by Lisa Williamson
  3. Geek Girl by Holly Smale

23613983cover78513-medium13621089

Books that make you laugh or cry?

Laugh for sure, I really don’t like crying!😂

Our world or fictional worlds?

Our world; I mostly read contemporaries, haha!

Audiobooks: yes or no?

Absolutely not!😟

Do you ever judge a book by its cover?

Yes, I am definitely guilty of doing this. Read all about it here!🙊

Book to Movie or Book to TV adaptations?

Movie adaptations, I usually don’t have the patience to watch entire TV shows.🙅

Series or standalones?

This all depends on the story and whether or not I feel more should be added onto it.

I tag…

  1. Nashaly @ The Book Theater
  2. Madi @ The BookNerd Diaries
  3. Regina @ Bookish in Bed

If you have already done this tag or don’t feel like doing it, I totally understand, but I would love to see your answers to these questions!💘

So tell me, have you read any of the books mentioned? Opinions? Do you (dis)agree with any of my answers? How would you answer any of these questions? Let me know in the comments below.

Au revoir!💜

The Playlist Shuffle Tag🎵

Hi everyone!☺️

Today we’ll be taking a break from the books and talking about music! This is because the fabulous Avi and Vishwa @ Panic at the Bookstore have tagged me to partake in the Playlist Shuffle Tag. Thanks so much, guys!💜 Their blog is awesome, so be sure to check it out ASAP!

The Rules:

Put your music on shuffle and list the first 15 songs to play (no cheating) then tag 10 3 others to do it as well.

Les Chansons:

1. Boom Boom Pow by The Black Eyed Peas

I remember being a fan of this song when I was younger, haha! I also remember having a dance to this song at a dance camp a couple of summers ago.☺️

2. I Wanna Go by Britney Spears

Honestly, I don’t have much of an opinion about this song. I guess it’s alright, though I haven’t really listened to it in a while.

3. Get Lucky by Daft Punk feat. Pharrell Williams

Aww, I loved this song! I still listen to it sometimes for its funky feel.✌️

4. Boyfriend by Justin Bieber

Yeah, I like both this song and Justin Bieber. I really like how he’s matured lately, so now I’ve been showing him and his music much more love.💘

5. One More Time by Daft Punk

This song is older than me, and honestly, I don’t love it. Daft Punk’s newer stuff is a lot better.👌

6. I’m in Love with a Monster by Fifth Harmony

Fifth Harmony is probably my favourite band right now. I’ve never disliked a song of theirs, and their songs are all so uplifting and happy! This one is from the movie Hotel Transylvania 2 (it’s very funny, by the way).

7. Body Work by Morgan Page feat. Tegan and Sara

I’ve gotten kind of sick of this song, but I do think it’s great for, well, body workouts.😂

8. Pumped Up Kicks by Foster the People

I really like the beat of this song, but the lyrics? Not so much.🙅

9. Glowing by Nikki Williams

I literally haven’t listened to this song for SO LONG. I remember it wasn’t really a favourite of mine, though.

10. Locked out of Heaven by Bruno Mars

I remember being really obsessed with this song when it was popular- I really like Bruno Mars and his music!

11. Remix (I Like The) by New Kids on the Block

Honestly, I forgot that this song was even on my computer, haha! I guess it’s alright.😂

12. Live for the Night by Krewella

This is such a fun song to listen to if you want an instant mood booster!☺️

13. We Found Love by Rihanna feat. Calvin Harris

I really like this song and I’m so thankful that my local radio station still plays it sometimes!☺️

14. #thatPOWER by will.i.am feat. Justin Bieber

Oy, I remember listening to this song on repeat for hours (basically) when it was popular. Haha, I loved it so much!

15. Take Care by Drake feat. Rihanna

I don’t really like most of Drake’s music, and I don’t think that I was the one who downloaded this song. I’m guessing my mom did…?

I tag…

  1. Lisa @ Bookshelf Fantasies
  2. JM @ Book Freak Revelations
  3. Emma @ Among the Pages

As always, it’s completely fine if you guys don’t feel like participating in this, it is ultimately just for fun! I’d still like to see your tastes in music, though!☺️

As you can probably tell, most of these songs are from around the years 2011-2013. This is because I went crazy with downloading songs then, and I literally wanted almost everything I heard on the radio.😂 Now, I’ve limited my downloading and don’t download too many songs. So, I hope you enjoyed this “throwback” to 4-5 years ago!☺️

So tell me, do you listen to any of these songs or artists? Who/what are some of your favourites? What is the first song that comes on when you press “shuffle?” Let me know in the comments below.

Au revoir!💜

Sunshine Blogger Award 12.0

Hi everyone!☺️

Yep, you guessed it! Here I am again, back with yet another Sunshine Blogger Award! This time it’s all thanks to the amazing Eliza @ Duskangelreads, so be sure to follow her blog! (It ROCKS, by the way!)💜

The Rules:

  • Thank the person who nominated you in a blog post and link back to their blog.
  • Answer the 11 questions sent by the person who nominated you.
  • Nominate 11 3 new blogs to receive the award and write them 11 new questions.
  • List the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger Award logo in your post and/or on your blog.

Les Questions:

What fictional character would you choose to spend the day with in their world?

This seems like a question aimed to be answered with a character in a fantasy book, so I guess I’ll go with Harry Potter. I’m just really curious about Hogwarts!

Pick one book that you would choose to completely forget? Whether it be to read it again for the first time or because you disliked it.

Nope, did not like this one AT ALL!🙅

What food would you like to try from a fictional world? e.g. Bertie Botts Every Flavour Beans

I usually read contemporaries, and from the fantasies and dystopians that I DO read, I unfortunately don’t pay much attention to small details like the foods. So, I’ll just answer this question with a food I’d really love to try, and that is gelato! Yum!😛

What colour book spines do you have the most of?

I am not with most of my books right now, but I’ll probably have to guess pink or blue.

What is your favourite book cover out of the books you own? Make sure you say which edition it is or add a photo as most books have multiple covers

Gorgeous!😍

What’s one item/device you wish you could own from any fictional world?

I’d love to have the invisibility cloak from Harry Potter!😍

Pretty sure I’ve used this question before, but what power/ability do you wish you could have?

I would absolutely LOVE to have the ability to fly, as well as the power to read minds (as long as no one can read my mind, haha!)

What is your favourite genre to read, even if you don’t read it the most?

Seriously? This question again? I’m not even going to answer it this time. Just click here and you’ll find out!😂

Do you listen to audiobooks? Or want to?

No, I don’t listen to audiobooks. I’d rather feel the book in my hands and actually see the words, and if I listened to an audiobook, I’d likely dose off and start daydreaming, honestly.

Where is your favourite place to read?

I love reading in my bed, or on a couch or armchair if I’m in the mood.

Are your book shelves full or have you still got room for more?

Oy, are they full alright! My dollhouse/bookshelf had gotten so full that it was almost about to tip over, so I had to take some books out of it and place them on my bedroom floor.

Yeah. I’m in need of an *actual* bookshelf.🙊

*Not my bookshelf, by the way.*

I nominate…

  1. Shanah @ Bionic Book Worm
  2. LILbooKlovers
  3. Bec @ Bec’s Books

As per usual, do not feel obligated to participate in this award, it’s ultimately just for fun! If you do decide to participate, though, I hope you enjoy answering my questions, which are below:

My Questions:

  1. Where was the last place you travelled, and when was it?
  2. How many physical books do you own?
  3. Under what circumstances would you DNF a book?
  4. What was the last movie you saw in theatres? Did you enjoy it?
  5. Share your favourite meme or GIF!😂
  6. Tell me a teaser sentence from the book you’re currently reading!
  7. What device do you use to write your blog posts (computer, phone, etc.)?
  8. Tell me a little known fact about you that no other bloggers know.
  9. If you could travel anywhere in the world right this instant, where would you go, and why?
  10. What song is stuck in your head right now? (if any)
  11. Give a shoutout to 5 awesome bloggers, and spread the love like confetti!😊

So tell me, have you read any of the books mentioned? Opinions? Would you agree with any of my answers? What would your answers be to my or Eliza’s questions? Let me know in the comments below.

Au revoir!💜
