If You’re a Bookworm, You NEED These Websites in Your Life

Hi everyone!👋

I would like to try to include more discussion posts on my blog this year, so I have been drafting and preparing a whole bunch of them for you guys. This will be my first one for this year, hopefully out of many!

Anyway, today I have decided to share some of the websites that have really helped and entertained me as a bookworm, and I have no doubts that these websites will do wonders for anyone even slightly interested in books. I hope you enjoy and take something from this post!❤️

Website #1: Goodreads

For many readers, Goodreads is a no-brainer must have. It is a very flexible and useful service that allows its users to log, rate, and review books they’ve read, are currently reading, and would like to read, and those who are savvy organizers have the option to sort their books into as many shelves as desired. Here are mine:

Screen Shot 2018-01-01 at 4.43.03 PM.png In addition to shelving books, on Goodreads there is the option of friending others (if you’re a blogger, then I HIGHLY recommend surfing other users’ profiles and connecting with them) and seeing what they read and review. Goodreads is also an excellent place  to receive recommendations from- the more books you rate, the higher quality your recommendations will be. I have personally found many new favourites from Goodreads (hence the app’s mantra, “Meet your next favourite book”)!

Website #2: Libib

Though I have not updated mine in a long time, it was very beneficial for me when I did because I was able to keep track of all of the books under my possession. Libib not only logs books, but it can keep track of movies, video games, and music as well. One downside to Libib, however, is that it is extremely hard to log ARCs until they are released, so bloggers who have a large collection of ARCs may feel a bit limited by the website.

Website #3: BookBub

It has aided me in finding many fun new eBooks to add to my collection, either free or extremely inexpensive. However, signing up for the site requires a newsletter registration, so BookBub may not be the best option if you do not prefer receiving these emails .

Website #4: How Long to Read

Screen Shot 2018-01-01 at 6.28.43 PM.png How Long to Read is a really useful tool to help determine how long it will take you to read certain books. This website evaluates your reading speed and tailors it to each book you search up to tell you approximately how long it will take you to read it. For instance, if you were to go on a plane ride and want a book that can span you the whole trip, this tool would be of great use as you would be able to figure out which book would work best based on its length and how fast you read.

Website #5: Buzzfeed Books

Screen Shot 2018-01-01 at 6.33.43 PM.png Although Buzzfeed can get really satirical at times and it is not the best source to use for writing school papers, it is an extremely fun way to kick back, relax, and waste time. Buzzfeed has the ability to make users laugh, cringe, smile, and experience a huge roller coaster of emotions at the same time, so if you are tired and are just looking for a website to have some fun on, then look no further!

Website #6: Epic Reads

Screen Shot 2018-01-01 at 6.38.58 PM.png Epic Reads is a lot like Buzzfeed Books, however it is primarily tailored to teenagers and fans of young adult books, so its atmosphere is a lot more appropriate for younger audiences. There is a multitude of activities that the site offers– quizzes, interesting articles, book news, videos (in BookTube style!), lists, giveaways, and more! The website is a lot of fun, making it a perfect place to venture to when bored.

  2. I’ve never seen How Long to Read, I use Goodreads all the time and have gotten better about reviewing books right after I read them. I have yet to use Libib, I use Epic Reads, and I’m not the biggest fan of Buzzfeed Books. Publisher websites are some of the greatest resources for bookworms, especially their newsletters.

  10. I have the “how long to read” feature on my kindle. I love it! I usually set it to show my time left in chapters, but whenever i start a new book, it estimates how long i will need to finish the whole stuff. 🙂

  14. There are a few websites on here that I hadn’t heard of! How Long To Read sounds so helpful, I needed that in my life haha. Last times I went on a long flight I ended up taking one really big book with me, but then I ended up disliking it so I couldn’t read it rip
