How I Found Out About It: Hype
Review:
For ages, I’d been hearing such good things about The Maze Runner. Everyone was falling in love with every aspect of it, so I decided to check it out to see the wonderful story that everyone was devouring. And for the most part, I adored it just as much as everyone else!
I’m sure you’ve already either read this book or already know what it’s about, but just in case you don’t, I’ll still be providing you guys with a brief synopsis. Okay, so this book centres around Thomas, who mysteriously wakes up in a lift only remembering his name, along with a bunch of other boys who also can’t remember anything. He then discovers that he’s stuck in the Glade, and surrounding it is a maze that is constantly changing- and it is nearly impossible to make it out without dying. When a girl arrives into the Glade, she delivers the boys a horrible message, which causes them to have to try out that maze, as well as fight and run for their lives.
My favourite character from this story would probably have to be Thomas. I feel like he was able to keep such a positive, upbeat attitude throughout the book, in spite of his lost memories and being forever stuck in the Glade. His perseverance to escape was also amazing-he didn’t really freak out or act scared; he just went with the flow and took whatever came at him, which I really admire. I really can’t wait to see more of Thomas’ strong attitude in the next two books!
After reading this, I totally understand why people have been adoring James Dashner’s books- his writing style is so engaging and fun! He has a lot of voice, and I feel like I was able to visualize most of the scenes in this book quite well. (Well, at least coming from someone who hasn’t seen the movies.)
Overall, The Maze Runner was an awesome story, and I can totally see where all the hype is coming from. I know I really enjoyed my time reading it, as others have and will once they read it! I’d recommend this to basically any YA fan who hasn’t gotten their hands on it yet, because you will for sure become one of those hyped up fans!

I LOVE this series! The Scorch Trials is my favorite book in the series. I loved the lingo the Gladers used. It made me laugh from the start, and I swear it’s part of the reason I was so sucked into that world. Nice review! 🙂

This book was so good! I fell in love with this within the first few pages, and the movie was great, too. I did read the Scorch Trials, too, but honestly I didn’t care much for that one, so I probably won’t continue with the series. The Scorch Trials just felt hard to get through and really long…not in a good way kind of long, but the kind of long that I found myself literally falling asleep while reading, haha. A lot of people really liked that one, though. I look forward to reading your review for the rest of the books if you read them!

I really loved the first 2 books in this series, but the final one was super disappointing for me. I hope you continue to enjoy the series though 😀 Great review!

Thanks, Lauren!😊I definitely get that; last books are usually hit-or-miss for me, as the author only has one more chance to wrap everything up. And I hope so, too!😄
