ORIGINAL: The Instagram Book Tag

Hi everyone!😊

Today I have decided to take on the challenge of creating my own book tag. The idea of making an Instagram book tag just popped up in my head, so I figured, why not do it?😉

I use Instagram a lot, both my personal account and my Bookstagram. For obvious reasons, I won’t be sharing the name of my personal account, but you can go ahead and follow my bookish account at @kdrewkthebookworm.

So, let’s get started!

Feed: Many people give a special theme to their Instagram feeds, or none at all. Are most of the books you read of the same genre, or do you like to mix it up?

I do read a lot of YA contemporary books, but lately I have been adding in a lot of sci-fi and historical fiction as well, and I plan on reading a lot more fantasy. So, I guess mix it up!😝

Filter: Instagrammers often put filters onto their photos to make them look vibrant and beautiful. Name a book with a stunning cover!

Oh, Everything Everything. You are absolutely stunning, inside and out.👌

Following: On Instagram, users follow others to see what they post, and basically for a little mash-up of their lives. Name a book character whose steps you always enjoy following.

I always enjoy reading about Harriet Manners from the Geek Girl series. She is honestly so much like me, and I can’t wait to see what she’ll be up to in the sixth book!

Followers: Many celebrities have millions of Instagram followers. Name a hyped-up book read by thousands that you were hesitant to read, but ended up devouring.

I thought that THG would be gory and violent, but it turned out to be absolutely amazing!

Direct Message: DMs are often used to send pictures found on Instagram to others, or simply just to chat. Name a book you always recommend to others.

My most obvious choice would be one of my all-time favourites, Since You’ve Been Gone by Morgan Matson. This is one of the first books I always recommend to others, because I believe that there’s something in it for everyone.❤️

Bio: Instagram bios can be up to 150 characters long, and can be used to give some general information about yourself. Name a book with a catchy blurb that hooked you in.

I have a curse
I have a gift

I am a monster
I’m more than human

My touch is lethal
My touch is power

I am their weapon
I will fight back

Juliette hasn’t touched anyone in exactly 264 days.

The last time she did, it was an accident, but The Reestablishment locked her up for murder. No one knows why Juliette’s touch is fatal. As long as she doesn’t hurt anyone else, no one really cares. The world is too busy crumbling to pieces to pay attention to a 17-year-old girl. Diseases are destroying the population, food is hard to find, birds don’t fly anymore, and the clouds are the wrong color.

The Reestablishment said their way was the only way to fix things, so they threw Juliette in a cell. Now so many people are dead that the survivors are whispering war – and The Reestablishment has changed its mind. Maybe Juliette is more than a tortured soul stuffed into a poisonous body. Maybe she’s exactly what they need right now.

Juliette has to make a choice: Be a weapon. Or be a warrior.

Unfollow: Sometimes you’ll like someone’s feed at first, but then you lose interest and decide to unfollow them. Name a book you liked at first, but over time, the love wore off.

At first, I really enjoyed Cut by Patricia McCormick, but now I can’t remember too much about it, so I don’t think I liked it as much as I thought I did.

Notifications: Whether you admit it or not, everyone loves and waits anxiously to see the pink notification button pop up at the bottom of their Instagram feed. Name an unreleased book that you’ve been anxiously awaiting.

GDEDBIWDBIWDUWDIWDGI this comes out so soon! I’m SOOOO excited and I can’t wait!😍😍

Hashtag: Many Instagrammers use hashtags to get their photos out there, or just for fun. Create yourself a bookish hashtag! It could be anything from just your blog’s name, to something crazy spectacular!

#ireadandblogwaaayyyytoomuch😉😂

Story: Many Instagrammers love using Instagram’s Story feature to let their followers know what they’re currently up to. Name a book you’re currently reading!

Nothing at the moment, but pretty soon I will be starting either The Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot, or Zenn Diagram by Wendy Brant. I’m super excited for both!😊

Tag: Many people tag friends in their photos because they were together when the picture was taken, or simply just because. Tag 5 awesome bloggers that you’d like to see take on this tag!

  1. Chelsea @ romweasley
  2. Jade @ Drink Coffee and Read Books
  3. Zoe @ if the book will be too difficult
  4. Isabelle @ Having Tea While Reading
  5. Whitney @ wordswisdomwhitney

And YOU!!❤️😊

If you decide to participate, PLEASE link back to this post so I can see your awesome answers, and feel free to use my header image, as well. I hope to keep this tag going, as well as reading everyone’s cool answers! Feel free to tweak some of the questions if you’d like, I don’t really mind.😌

So, do you guys like my new book tag? Do you use Instagram a lot, whether it be personal or bookish? Have you read any of these books, and if so, opinions? Let me know in the comments below.

Au revoir!💜

  2. Cute! I just signed up for Instagram (well, I had an account, so I redownloaded the app and signed in, then changed my user name to my blogger name, though surprisingly Teacherofya was taken so I had to make it with underscores in the title). I hope to make it a bookstagram. I won’t be able to make pretty pics like some ppl do, but I’ll share my pics with the community! I’ll have to put them up there and start taking some better ones!
I just wish I had the physical books to stage photos with…🤔
