How I Found Out About It: Goodreads
What an adorable read! I knew just by looking at the cute title and cover that I would love it. This book is light and memorable, and it seems to have reached the hearts of many readers, now including myself!
For a synopsis, The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight is about Hadley, who is on her way to her dad’s wedding in Chicago. Well, she’s supposed to be. While waiting in the airport, she blinks out for a few minutes, and snaps back to find out that her plane had taken off without her. It turns out that those four short minutes would change her life- because if it wasn’t for her missing the plane, then she wouldn’t have met Oliver, who’s going to the same place. When she and him eventually board the next flight, they bond and have an amazing time. Unfortunately, when they land, they end up losing each other in the busy airport. Will they be able to meet again, and continue the bond they’d made on the plane?
Hadley wasn’t my favourite character ever, but I guess she was just okay. She tended to get a bit annoying and whiny at times, which sort of irritated me. I mean, she didn’t even want to go to her dad’s second wedding (who, for the record, she hadn’t seen in ages), and before the wedding, she didn’t make an effort to even meet his bride! I get that she would probably rather have a happy family with her parents still happily together, but I don’t think she needed to be that dramatic. But still, I definitely understand her hard feelings. Depending on the person, I think they’re actually pretty normal.
I totally liked Oliver better; he was one of the highlights of the book for me😄. He was soooooo sweet and accepting, and I love how determined he was to make things work with Hadley in their limited timeframe. The romance was SO CUTE, and while reading the book, I could tell that they were absolutely perfect for each other. Love really does come when you least expect it; and this book was such a great example of that! If you don’t believe me when I say that, then I think you should give this story a read, and then find afterwards that you’ve changed your mind😏.
In addition to love coming when you aren’t anticipating it, I also think that this book really shows that there is at least one good thing coming from any not-so-good situation. Hadley missed her plane, so if she boarded the next flight, then she’d be running super late for her dad’s wedding, but despite that, she met Oliver, who completely changed her life in just 24 hours. I personally think that’s amazing! This just goes to show that whenever you’re feeling down or in a crisis, there is still some light shining out of the dark situation, you just have to keep on looking until you find it.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book, and I believe that this could pick any reader up if they’re in a bad mood. It also gave me extreme FEELS in some parts (not going to give anything away😊).
I’d recommend this to any teen wanting a super adorable romance novel including travelling that will put you on an emotional roller coaster. If those types of books tickle your fancy, then the statistical probability of you absolutely loving this book is… 100%!❤️(Haha, see what I did there?😏)

  1. Yas!! I liked your review! 😀 I agree with the whole Hadley not wanting to give her new step mom a chance thing, if I was her I would have. Her step mom is so nice too!! And it really was a feel good book, it’s just so cute!
